Your Wedding Harpist
What could be more heavenly than the lovely sounds of a harp lilting in the air
on your wedding day! If this resonates with you, then look no further. Marilyn Wienand
has been playing her beautiful harps (she has many) at weddings for twenty years
and has an incredible repertoire. She can also provide flute and vocal accompaniment
if requested. Marilyn is available for weddings in the Triangle and Triad areas
of North Carolina and is highly recommended by other wedding professionals and brides.

Wedding Ceremony Music - The music for your wedding ceremony is so important to
create the mood and style you want. The harp music also helps the flow from one
part of the ceremony to the next. Harp music is very elegant and beautiful. Your
wedding guests will comment about and be moved by Marilyn’s beautiful harp music.
Marilyn will work closely with you to choose the harp music which reflects your
style.
Also available are flute and harp duo,
soprano and harp duo and The Merry Minstrels,
playing Medieval and Renaissance music on period instruments and in costume for
your Medieval , Renaissance or pirate theme wedding
Planning your wedding music
The following is an outline of the wedding ceremony in regard to music:
- harp prelude, usually half hour long as the people gather
- harp selections as special invited guests and/or grandparents enter
- musical selections for processional of the mothers
- processional for bridesmaids and groomsmen. The groom and officiant usually come
in at the beginning of this music. The last ones to process are usually the ring
bearer and flower girl.
- processional music for the bride
- harp selections during the wedding ceremony. Quiet harp music is appropriate during
the unity candle or other ceremony. A harp solo such as “The Lord’s Prayer” by Malotte
or “The Prayer” by David Foster are a nice touch which gives you a chance to relax
and be fully present in the moment while everybody listens to this beautiful music.
- wedding recessional which can be extended if the people are released row by row,
or as a transition into the cocktail hour.
